I’ve never cared for them. Think about it… if Hobbiton had had one, all of its Hobbit holes would have been adorned with plain-looking rectangular doors and windows instead of round ones. Where’s the fun in that?
And without round doors and round windows, the Hobbits would not have evolved into the ‘remarkable folk’ that Gandalf so admired, which means he would never have paid them any attention nor befriended Bilbo or Frodo, which means Sauron would be ruling Middle Earth today. Therefore, say no to HOAs… they do the bidding of Sauron.
